It is impossible to win the race unless you venture to run, impossible to win the victory unless you dare to battle.

Torrential rain throughout the weekend brought challenge after challenge to the riders and teams. The World Cup circuit is defined by its extreme highs and lows, and this weekend was to be no different.

After an incredible start to the year, things took a turn for the worse in Fort William for Tahnee Seagrave. A first run over the bars took down the points leader with a shoulder injury, putting her on the sidelines for a while. Get well soon Tahnee!

1st in qualifying and 2nd in finals for Tracey Hannah, a great result in the challenging Scottish conditions!

Every British rider has the dream of winning Fort William, and no matter how many times she does, Rachel Atherton is no different.

To the jubilation of the home town crowd, Greg Williamson put down a flyer, finishing in 12th place.

You win championships on your bad days. After a huge crash in qualifying, Loic Bruni salvaged an impressive 8th place come finals time. Look for him back in the mix next week in Leogang.

Back where he belongs; after a tough start to the season Greg Minnaar put down a solid run to land just one spot off the podium in 6th. Once again a protected rider, look out for Minnaar to return to chasing wins and trying to extend his GOAT title.

5th place isn’t what Danny Hart was aiming for in Fort William, but two podiums to the start the year puts him right in the heat of the championship battle going forwards.

Just like his team mate and many of his competitors, Finn Iles had a big crash in qualifying. Showing racing prowess beyond his years, he turned things around come finals to grab a podium spot: 4th place for the Canadian.

Last man down after qualifying first, Vergier put down a strong run to grab 3rd place.

Consistency pays off in the long run. 2nd place for Troy Brosnan in Fort William sees him take the leaders jersey into Leogang next week. Stay tuned!
